Twin Birth - 2nd Month

Trying to adjust myself during this 2nd month, especially when my confinement lady has left, I have to handle 3 new comers at one go and I have communication problem with 3 of them. Two of them only converse via cries and 1 speak only Malay. I am expected to learn and be proficient in Malay. Think if I have the time, I rather sleep or do something that I enjoyed. Plus, 3 of them have different culture, the baby culture and country culture.
In my mind, I still have thousands and one thing not done, especially facing my messy home after the shift from Toa payoh. Before delivery, my tummy was too big to work around; now, my hands are too tight to work on it.
At times, keeping sane is a challenge when facing the cries from 2, different working mindset from 1, sleep deprived, being confined at home. Depression is something that I try to ward off by keeping communication with friends and colleagues, and also with the help and support from in laws. Now I can understand why microwave is bad for babies.

Big Girl Going to Camp

My big girl will be going for OBS camp from 6th-8th Feb, she is so excited that she took these pictures and want me to post it online. The campsite is at East Coast park, just beside the Sea Sport Centre, haha, that's where our usual beach hang out place.

Twin Birth - 4th Week

人家做月不怕热, 此热是指身体的热, 我象是越补越发热, 虚不胜补!!!
进入产后第4周, 每天都有固定的程序, 如几点起床, 梳洗, 吃饭, 冲凉, 等等, 千篇一律. 满月后就会不一样了, 陪月aunty就回家了, 到时那将会是天翻地覆!!!
Looking at my scar, my gynae told me that it is 12cm long, but when I estimated the length myself, it is at least 15cm and is slightly curved, so could be even longer. Hu... At times the wound will send me some painful sensation, maybe I should ask my gynae did he left anything behind...Whole body aching especially the back due to bending for diaper change, carrying the babies to walk around too much.

The face is on the other sister hand.

Lovely gifts from Sweden. As I was thinking of getting some safe toys that will emit some soft noise when shaking, this is exactly what I need and it is in the form of rabbit character.

Twin Birth - 2nd Week

人家做月都怕热, 我却怕冷, 可见我身子有多虚! 这次产子真的是元气大伤. 不再年轻.
Finally I can cut my toe nails, I can bend my legs which I never did these for months during pregnancy. My legs still looks like deformed, the fluid has not completely gone yet, so there are kind of lumps residue in there.
Both babies exhibit different patterns everyday. At night, they will take turns to cry, sometimes both cries at the same time. Our poor confinement lady hardly got any sleeps in the night, just to entertain and give them night feeds thoughout the nights.
Let me analyse how many twins in my family. My father side: 1) I have a pair of twin cousin; My mother side: 2) I have a pair of cousin (1 survived); 3) my granduncle is one of a twin. Is that gene or age that made my carry twins? I do not know. Science will says it's age.

Revenge time, you kicked me when we were only few months old before birth, now I kick you back.

Twin Birth - Arrival

Twins arrived on 12 Dec, after their mummy going thru a GA in TMC operating table. I have to fast from 7am in the morning and not allowed any food in the night. As my HB level is low (8.4) upon check in, I got a 1st in my lifetime blood transfusion at night, luckily I did not develop any fever after that. But my BP is shooting high after I am out of ops, reading 173 for SYS. Till now, I am still having this hypertension that not sure when it will go away.
Next day I am only allowed Milo for breakfast, teabreaks and lunch, only started to have some fish porridge in the evening. still I feel miserable as I cannot swallow well, I had sore throat due to the ops as they inserted a breathing tube thru my throat during ops. Any pills to me is BIG, I will have to bite all of them to much smaller pieces before swallowing them.
Thank you all colleagues and friends who have sent regards and visited me during my stay in hospital.

1 more day to go, and it's my girl birthday today.

Just because it's a Sunday today, I cannot have the D-day as the same date. Else all my 3 girls would have been born on the same day and same month.

Last night we bought a cake for YS, together we had it for breakfast. Due to my big tummy and inconvinence to move around, she can only stay at home and play with all her soft toys. Morever she had a fever last night and thank God that the fever subsided by today.

Another day down, closer and closer. Today brought my girl to Serangoon Nex for a Hello Kitty show, think this will be the last chance this year for me to bring her out during school holiday. Next week onwards, at least for a few months, all my time will be needed for the 2 little ones.

At home, I'm like a busy bee, cleaning nest syndrome, keep packng here and there, never will I think it's good enough. Just that I'm so slow that it will never finish. Close both eyes...

Twin Pregnancy - Week 36

Counting down by days...People are counting for 12 days of Christmas, I am counting towards 12th day of D-day..till 12 Dec. Never been on a operating theatre table before, hence very very fearful though millions of people have been there. As of today, I left with 4 days of "freedom" but almost immobilised. Just shifting of my butt from 1 chair to the other would make me think twice.

Today is my last visit to gynae before delivery, position of twin still the same, hence confirmed they will be delivered by C-sect. My HB level up abit to 8.4, should be the medication effect. Slight weight loss to 79kg, now lesser appetite to eat. And every moment, they are squeezing in my tummy, can be quite distracting.

Feeling exhausted every minute, even solving a math problem will make me feels tired. Can't wait to meet the 2 babies, aka unloading...Perhaps my only acceptable entertainment at home is playing my newly bought iPad.

Oh ya, I used my "cheong" iPod charger to charge my iPad, ended up it tripped my house power supply but I am glad that my iPad is safe.

Weekends cooking by hubby.

That's goes my iPod charger, lucky iPad does provide charger, so now I use iPad charger to charge both devices.

Twin Pregnancy - Week 35

Yes, counting down, getting closer each day.

Weight has hit 80kg today and high blood pressure starts to appear on me with 130/85. At home is measuring 142/80, scary.... HB also low at a reading of 7.6, I think their machine having problem, not me....Hope so. And, I left the clinic with 2 more types of medication, in total, I am consuming 7 types of medication.

Left twin remains in breech position, so it is confirm to be a GA C-section on 12 Dec. Less than 2 weeks from now. 越来越紧张了.

This belt has been on me to help support my tummy but for the past 3 week, its no longer in used, it will drop off, tummy too big.

My medication: 1. Utrogestan 100mg (to relax uterus to prevent preterm labour), 2. Folic Acid (finishing soon and will not continue after that), 3. Dhaxtra Softgel (Fishoil), 4. Calcium tablet (Pink colour), 5. Floron tablet (Brown colour, Iron tablets, 2x per day as I need for blood production), 6. Ferbeaplex (Red colour, another kind of iron tablet newly prescribed due to my low HB), 7. Apo-Methyldopa (Yellow tablet, for High BP controls, 3x per day).

Twin Pregnancy - Weeks 34

It's 34 weeks now and counting down. Gynae has booked for me my delivery on week 37. I feel fearful and looking forward to download the heavy weight. Left twin weighing about 2.29kg and right twin weighing 2.3+kg. Left twin has switched position to breech again. Every 2 weeks we have to guess what posture they are showing. It's quite unusual that they are still switching position at this advanced stage, especially twins.

Less physical movement now, technically I left with 3 weekends to prepare for everything, always feeling not enough time to prepare but I guess that's every mum-to-be worries, things never got ready.

At least I still have a chance to attend this year company Dinner and Dance and get to win the 31st prize, a BackJoy seat support which is laying around in my house with not much use to my family.

This medication was given to me in week 32, to be taken for 4 weeks to relax the uterus to prevent preterm labour.

The 1st homecook food after I known of my own pregnancy. And it will be the last before delivery as it is really too tiring to preparing till washing up. tsk tsk ***

Japanese sweet potato porridge, fried onion eggs and fried bean spout, my girl love these so much although I find them blend, to reduce salt to cut down water retention.

See the layer of fats under the skin, the outer layer of skin has been stretch till fold lines are permenant there at tis moment.

Twin Pregnancy - 3rd Trimester

Everything are BIG!!! Big legs, big foots, big tummy, big body, big bum, except...still not very big...

Going out will attract attention cos of my super big tummy, with a waistline of...if I can still call it waistline...47 inch.

Today is at weeks 32, hoping to keep them till at least 36 weeks in my tummy, target 2.5kg each, not sure whether will they reach that weight as they have slowed down their growth this week but the mummy is still putting on weight, OMG!!!

Before weeks 28, right twin was always in breech position. On weeks 28, both heads are pointing downwards. On weeks 30, left twin turned upright and on weeks 32, both heads pointing down again. So much activities in there, no wonder I am so tired. Usually the right twin is 200grams slightly heavier but now, the left twin is catching up, weighing slightly heavier then right twin, both at approx 1600 grams. With their growth slowing down, I will be happy if the are borned with weights of 2kg each.

My movement are very slow now, almost immoblised. Climbing stairs of more than 10 stairs are impossible now. I have thousands and one stuff that I know I need to do but just couldn't get it started. It is a big achievement to have completed this page of blog that seems not very organised.. Ho ho ho!!!

It's so swollen that sometimes the toes are only half a inch.

Wonder what are they doing, swifting sideways.

Another Farewell on 18 September 2011

两年内, 又再向一名亲人永别, 好伤心, 好无奈! 现在只剩下我一人, 还好我有我自己的家庭, 有很强大的支持网, 很幸运. 也很感激姑姑,伯伯, 朋友们的帮忙.

我哥哥那一段挣扎的日子, 还有最后一段的辛苦, 将会永刻于心. 很多时候, 看他很痛苦, 又帮不上忙, 很心痛. 他是名战士, 虽败犹荣. 很内疚. 那段日子没能好好的照顾他. 或许, 怀孕只是一个偷懒的借口. 还好有我的大伯公, 几乎把卖车, 搬家, 丧事事宜一手给包办到完, 了不起!!!

现在暂时只有一种心情, 就是很伤心!

Twin Prenancy - 2nd Trimester

Now I am coming to end of 2nd trimester and it was so eventful during this period. So far, my baby scans showed normal, unable to perform any medical test since they are identical twins. By the time doctor found out that they have their own room, he only ordered a detailed scan, should be good enough else I will need to be poked twice. Hope they keep actively staying in my tummy for at least another 10 weeks because from now on, I am at risk of premature delivery which I hope I do not need that, although I am living in a pressure cooker now with so many things happened. My miserable days does not end yet.

With my tummy growing so big, I am kinda handicap now. Cannot walk fast, cannot stand long. Get backache easily, retarded physical movement. Get exhausted easily, really cannot do much. Not like my 1st prenancy, 9 years younger, singleton prenancy, not much discomfort and physically active (still can go to Spain, go exhibitions, Orchard Road shoppings, etc). Now, only home, work, hospital.

Due to the heavy physically work I had past few weeks, I did feel some dull backache which do not seems good, that is one of the indication of labour. And the spotting, makes me worry everyday.

Yet, during this period, I have to go thru a lot of huge projects, one after another. Like, selling of my brother's house, shifting/clearing of Toa Payoh house, unpacking my own house as all boxes landed in my house. Selling of my brother's car. Changing of address for my brother with one errand after another since he is ill and hospitalised. And, my brother is getting weaker and quite ill. I hope no matter what arangement God has for him, I hope he do not suffer in much pain.

At work, there are some new projects implementation that gives me another set of mental stress, these projects requires my involvement heavily. And, I also need to plan for my handover during my maternaty leave. Every staff in the team has a purpose, by having my workload adding to them, sigh, feel so bad.

头3个月, 如之前所说, 在尽量照料生病的哥哥. 精神不好, 味口不好的我, 只能尽我所能.

接下来的3个月, 压力越来越大, 精神与体力都不支. 发生了很多事.

1. 卖屋 - 哥哥决定把屋子卖掉. 过程还好, 不用太出力.

2. 搬家 - 大工程. 挺着大肚子的我, 没能力了, 只有全靠大伯公一个人包办. 如果他真的有大伯公的神力该多好. 这段期间, 从8月中到9月头, 就得清空大巴窑那间藏有20年历史的公寓式组屋, 还有我本身的东西. 间中有同事帮忙领走一些物品, 累他们跑3趟. 买东西时, 真的要三思. 得好好反省反省!!! 回到自己家后, 那堆积如山的箱子等着我们收拾, 头大.

3. 哥哥病情 - 不是很好, 他越来越辛苦. 我真的无能为力, 又照顾不周, 很过意不去. 只望他不要经历太多痛苦.

4. 工作 - 有新案子, 需跟进, 与美国配合, 试验, 实施. 可能也有人事调动, 令人不安.

以上压力可真不简单, 挺着2个宝宝在肚里, 希望她们乖乖的待在里头至少多10个星期. 偶尔会感觉不适, 有些微微的生产迹象, 希望一切都能熬过来, 等她们出世后, 还有得闹呢.

A Miserable 2011 - till Jun

2011 就这样过了半年, 原来日子是可以这么的难过!!!

Jan: 小女今年起就读上午班, 每天得在不久的将6点之前起身, 到如今还不能能适应, 真服了4点起身的同事.

How nice if the school can start slightly later. Getting used to wake up early is tough.

Feb: 还在过年期间, 哥哥因久咳不愈而转看专科, 就在当天被令住院观察, 怀疑是TB. 在头一个星期, 就一直做试验, 正奇怪单单TB需要这么多test, 一个星期后, 院方才诊断出那是肺癌, 第4期, 已转移至骨头.

My brother had this persistance cough and needs to be referred to specialist. He got admitted into hospital on the very same day based on the suspect of TB. Everyday there was a test and after a week of tests and scan, they concluded is stage 4 lung cancer as the cancer cell has spreaded and erroded the femur bone.

Mar-Apr: 就这样, 检验, 开刀, 放射性治疗, 一呆, 就住了2个月. 4月21日出院. 全家大小都得搬过来Toa Payoh.

So weeks and weeks of stay in hospital for operations, recovery of operations and radio therpy. Finally discharged on 21 Apr 11.

May: 在 Toa Payoh 住了一段日子, 越住是越不喜欢, I missed my home....然后, 轮到我浑身不舒服, 胃口差, 大姨妈没来. 买了支验孕棒来验一验, 两条线!!! 糟, 在这么遭的情况下有了, 惊!!! 月中去看妇科大夫, 更惊!!! 因为看到双影!!! 月底再一次确定, 是双胞胎!!! 忧多于喜. 时机错乱, 只能接受.
My stay in Toa Payoh is getting worse each week, feeling more and more tired, thinking I could have some illness. After feeling really really not right, I got a pregnacy test and it shows positive. Oh dear, wrong timing...With the visit to gynae, I have bigger shock, they call it the "twin shock". Yes, they are twins in there, wriggling around. My mind flash with many signs...$$$...

Jun: 害喜得颇严重的, 虽不至于呕吐, 但没食欲, 作呕, 嗅觉味觉超敏感, 怀小女时的轻松不在, 现在有如双倍奉还, 难过.

The morning sickness were bad, in terms of no appettide and tired. I get breathless easily and tired.

I miss home dearly!!!

And I do thanks my friends and caring colleague for all the encouragement and their help, I need them to live on and at work also. Best of all, I have my good old friend in the same company, also carrying baby in her tummy, great.

今天大伯公chio小公主去公园, 因为他要骑单车, workout. 身为老妈子的我, 只好当跟班啦!

脚车道就在入口不远处.

我与小公主再走多几步就看到一条小经. 在没地图, 没装备的情况下再次乱闯, 不过大约知晓路程不会很远.

果然, 只走了不到半公里, 因为处处积水(凌晨时份下全岛性大雨), 虫子非常活跃, 把小公主给吓得花容失色, 行程被夭斩了. 刚好我们也到了它的中心, 有个类似museum的建筑物.

Finally the warrior is back to his starting point. It took him 35~40 minutes to complete the course.

Diary Farm Nature Reserve is connected to Bukit Timah Nature Reserve by this route. This path is just few steps away from the cycling path. There is only 1 cycling path connecting the whole Nature Reserve (Bukit Timah and Diary Farm), this is another entry point to the cycling track apart from my previous "venture".

Me and Ms Puay went to Tanjong Pagar CC for a bakery lesson on 23 Jun 2010, afternoon 3pm. 真难得. It was raining heavily while walking from office to the CC. 差不多要变成落汤鸡了.

The instructor speak English with very strong French accent, reminds me of my ex-ex-boss...the confusion on 10 person and 10 percent.......

A sweet stall selling Japanese titbits. I bought some.

Some old horses, 2, for touching and photo taking.

The aircon betting and viewing area at 2nd level.

Happened to see filming of "Amazing Race" but not sure what kind of race is that, or which version.

The highlight of the event is Carebear but I was quite disappointed that the timing of the 2 bears appearance were very very short.

This was caught while the bears are on their way to the center stage. It was about 6pm.

The escaping bear after the short stage performance. So chaotic.

At 7.05pm, there was a photo taking session for public but the number of people allowed were about 80. Me and girl went to queue but were rejected.

Most important, do not gamble.

回家前, 在出入口处, 拍照留念.

This was last year games, 也有木偶马可骑. This year there is only a mini viking machine, not so interesting in terms of games.

Also, horse strolling around the small riding ring last year but this year there isn't.

那天弄些cookies, 有段时间我不在岗位, 一回来, 盘子就多出了这些...

忘了是哪个星期天傍晚, 天正下着雨, 因没带伞, 不能过去对面的义安城. 在等的当儿, 有人就当街表演一段yo-yo杂技, 是有难度的动作喔.

同事手功缝的被子, patch work. 高难度!

6月7日上午7时, 暴风雨来临前.

是, 是, 我正好要亮出洗好的衣服...

又买了一个磅, 是用来秤脚车重量的, 你以为干嘛来的.

小公主这次也快要变书虫了.

五一那天, 带着小公主, 搭船到Desaru. 大伯公在前一日与他同事已驾车进入大马, 留宿一夜. 他今午会到那边码头接我们.

他们今午check out了. 在等的当儿, 就到处逛一逛. 地方很大, 没车子可不行. 十多年前来过, 有小火车绕圈圈的, 现在没有了.

离开住宿后, 就到四湾吃午餐.

餐馆附近有间不同凡响的屋子, 在这街道上显得格格不入. 不知是属于哪位富豪人家的.

星期六的午餐, 尝试了不同的菜肴, 第一次弄这菜...

经同事介绍这牌子的 seasoning, 只须动用到烤炉, 就试了一次. 效果有如她所形容, 简单好吃, 虽然我弄得有点焦, 但不失味道.

另一道是弄个没把握没做过的汤类, 花生黑豆排骨汤.

我用那个同事们为之疯狂的万能锅. 把材料加与八分水, 一小块冰糖, 几颗红枣, 不加盐, 煮半个钟, 剩七分水, 放进万能锅, 顺道在锅的上层放米与热水, 全盖上了.

1.5 钟头后, 生米也成熟饭了.

汤也有个样子了. 嗯, 有花生与排骨味, 淡, 可能是不加盐的关系, 花生还很硬. 我看这类汤, 还是用电子砂锅比较好, 要很耐心的炖它.

那天在John Little 有30%或40%折扣, 就买了这床单, 小公主喜欢得不得了.

平时空空的冰箱, 这次却塞满了东西, 怕初一初二得吃快餐.

听说Chocolate Cornflakes 很容易做, 自己也试了, 嗯, 巧克力太多, 好甜.

因为做这东西, 发现这个mini cooker/steamer 好好用, 可以用来double boil.

在 Compass Point 底层新开了Toast Box 与她的另一个子公司, Icing Room, 都属 Breadtalk 集团. 整个门面以粉红色为主. 蛋糕设计得很漂亮, 比 Breadtalk 的好看, 但价格不菲, 如果没记错, 小小 4" 的就要大约$20.

这里没拍照, 人太多, 把视线给挡住, 我也不好意思, 怕被服务员赶.

这里是 DIY section, 您可买个蛋糕, 自己点缀. 4" 的要 $11.80, 6" $20.80....

我边吃Toast Box 的面包套餐,边拍照.

服务员的制服是粉红色的.

这天, 在妈妈家收拾东西, 突然非常非常的怀念妈妈. 也许, 我要好的同事朋友刚失去母亲事件, 令我感触良深. 在她母亲逝世的前一晚, 刚巧遊览了她放在部落格, 有她母亲的相片. 愿我好友坚强渡过这时期.

Wisma Isetan 3或4楼的橱窗摆设, 似乎有点那个.......

星期天晚上, 为了跟旧同事领取之前与她预订的凤梨塔, 得到她家拿, 地点就在小印度. 离去是, 可真要与"黑压压"的人群争马路. 只能让车子滑行, 任由人群闪避我们. 这里应该是Hindoo Road 还是Dunlop Street之类吧.

以下是Barccok Bakery 的Chocolate banana Bun, 每次都没看到它, 因为这面包很快就卖光了.

这天傍晚, 在跑步的当儿, 在盛港小学门前(start point), 有一名安娣, 比我还安娣的安娣, 向我问路. 她要到那条有econ mart 的路, 那econ是在一座蓝色condo里, 那儿可以搭巴士到Woodlands. 想了一下, 大概知道她要去Jenny家 (Blk 190, Compassvale Street, star point) 附近的那条街, 虽然那儿没有condo.

从我们的所在地点要到那里可隔了两条街, 一时很难说得清, 我的方向感又差, 盛港是出了名的路街难找, 弯曲路线很多. 她又整天嚷嚷对盛港不熟, 又没耐心听人解说, 语气又不好. 几分钟后, 她指着她手表说, 跟我毫下去简直是浪费时间, 我就叫她问别人. 我转身后, 她用福建话说:"吃屎的啦". 哈, 敢在这地区撒野,没死过.

下一个她对着一对马来同胞说华语, 哈, 她又要请人吃屎了.

在跑到Sengkang East Way (end point) 时又见到那个安娣还在问路. 经过她时给了她一个鬼脸, 不知已问了第几个了. 可怜我们盛港居民不知要被请吃多少屎了. 希望有人把她引到Choa Chu Kang去吧!

下午, 在等巴士的当儿, 就在Toa Payoh Lorong 1, Braddell MRT旁的车站, 忽然间听到一声"碰", 与一女子惨叫声, 还以为发生了夺命车祸. 原来那女子就站在路中央, 正要过马路,车祸就在眼前发生. 她可真是最佳目击者了.

Fun With Whipping Cream

以为上午做的芝士蛋糕失败, 晚上来个杯子蛋糕. 也玩玩看那个Whipping Cream是怎么一会事.

同事说只须搅拌它, 不须加料就行了.

刚开始的一两分钟, 它一直维持水状, 只吐出泡沫, 还以为坏了, 因为同事说, 搅拌得太久会变成水, 蛋白质会分解.

之后再过半分钟, 神奇(对我来说)景象出现了, 它终于变成糊状了, 真好玩. 尝一尝, 味道象星巴克用在咖啡上的奶油. 小公主又有新玩意儿了.
